ARAPAHOE KENNEL CLUB SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

OBJECTIVE
To provide post-secondary educational support to Junior Handlers who meet our annual qualifications to apply for a club scholarship.
ELIGIBILITY TO APPLY
- Junior must earn a Best Junior at our annual show.
- Junior must be in good standing with the American Kennel Club.
- Junior must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 and must prove the same.
- Junior must apply on the Arapahoe KC Junior Scholarship Application Form and apply by all annual deadlines. (LINK coming soon)
APPLICATION REVIEW PROCESS & AWARD ANNOUNCEMENTS
- Junior applications will be reviewed by the Junior Committee that will bring recommendations to the board, for the board to vote on annual scholarship recipients, which may be more than one and may be varied in amounts based on club finances, etc.
- After the board decision, the club will notify all scholarship applicants, successful or unsuccessful.
- A certificate and letter with more information will be provided to any annual recipient.
SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS PROCESS, EXPECTATIONS & EXPIRATION INFORMATION
- Juniors are expected to keep in contact with the club where they can always find updated contact information on our website. (LINK www.ArapahoeKennelClub.com)
- Juniors are to complete our Arapahoe KC Request for scholarship fund form on our website (LINK coming soon).
- No payment will be made to the Junior/former Junior; All payments will be made directly to the educational institute, trade school, etc. they are attending. Funds may also be used for apprenticeship and for educational books, programs and other educational materials.
- Any/all scholarship funds not withdrawn will expire on the Junior’s 24th birthday (6 years after aging out of Juniors).
- Any Junior/former Junior who does not remain in Good Standing with the American Kennel Club, the potential for our Scholarship is automatically cancelled.
